Young Scholars receive Title I, II, III, and IV funds to operate a targeted assisted program that is 100 percent federally funded for supplemental educational purposes.

Title I, Part A of the ESEA, Grants to Local Educational Agencies

Title I, Part A provides financial assistance to schools to improve educational opportunities for educationally deprived children. Our Targeted Assisted Title I program is designed to help specific children meet state content and performance standards in reading, English-language arts, and mathematics.

Title II
, Part A, Improving Teacher Quality State Grant

Title II, Part A provides financial assistance to our school to improve our teachers’ skills and the quality of instruction in core academic subjects. Title II, Part A can also be used for class-size reduction programs.

Title III
, Language Acquisition State Grant
Young Scholars participates in the Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Title III consortium to obtain Title III. Through this effort, we can deliver language instruction and educational programs to our students whose primary language is not English.

The program is designed to enhance the education of children and youth with limited English proficiency by helping them learn English. In doing so, they can more easily meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards. The program also provides enhanced instructional opportunities for immigrant children and youth.

Title IV
, Part A of the ESEA, Student Support and Academic Enrichment
This program helps schools provide all students with access to a well-rounded education, improve school conditions for student learning, and improve their use of technology to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students

  • Communicate in social settings
