Parent Testimonials

Young Scholars of Greater Allegheny Charter School have been instrumental in the educational, self-growth, and cultural awareness, in supporting our daughters. My children tenure at Young Scholars academically transition them from student to scholar. This institution of learning over the years has created an exciting environment of learning and goals achievement that has challenged our daughters to excel. The relationships between Young Scholars of Greater Allegheny Charter School staff, parents, and guardians are focused on the overall accomplishment and well-being of the scholar. We thank you for an exciting new way of learning… .

“Prepare them for Life!”

I have tried private schools for my children, and one day came across a flyer for Young Scholars of Allegheny. I said Hey why not! I liked what they had to offer. My older two girls entered Young Scholars in the 3rd and 4th grades. They later became the first and second graduating class of Young Scholars of Allegheny. I currently have two other children in Young Scholars who are straight-A students. Young Scholars offers a well-rounded opportunity for learning. The staff is very caring, loving, helpful, and nurturing. I love how they get to know the children individually to meet each child’s needs. The smaller class sizes along with the multiple foreign languages that are offered also have a major impact on the learning of the students. My two older girls who are currently in high school are in all scholar’s classes and still honor roll students. It’s the grounding and the focus on the academics for me that prepare them for the next level of life.

“They Make It Happen”

We all know or have heard that Young Scholars provides a top-notch education. But from my family’s experience, it’s not only challenging but truly engaging for my children. At the end of my twin boys’ kindergarten year, I asked them if they wanted to go to an “easier” school. One where they wouldn’t have a foreign language. To my surprise, they both said they LOVED Spanish and wanted to return to Young Scholars because they wanted to learn Spanish.  Young Scholars is not just a school, it’s a family. My children are greeted every morning with smiles and hugs! The teachers, counselor, and administration truly care about my family. They get back to me immediately whenever I reach out. They even check in on us to make sure we are satisfied with the school and are ok outside of school. It’s been a challenging year for my family and Young Scholars has been a wonderful support system. It is important to them that my children thrive academically and socially. They do EVERYTHING in their power to make that happen!
