Saturday AcademyYSGA offers Saturday Academy to students in 3rd through 8th grade for 10 sessions.
The sessions focus on small-group learning in Reading and Math. The goal of Saturday Academy is to reinforce, reteach and extend learning.
In addition to the focus on academics, Saturday Academy includes recess, computer time, field trips, and attendance incentives. All students in grades 3-8 are welcome to participate. Families must provide transportation to and from school.
YSGA Saturday Academy 2023
YSGA Saturday Academy is designed for students in the 3rd – 8th grade wishing to further build their Reading, Writing, and Math skills in order to get ahead in school and perform well on the state PSSA tests! Students will work in small groups with teachers to complete activities that will help them improve their skills.
Saturday Academy takes place on Saturday mornings from 8:30 AM – 12 PM. Breakfast, lunch, and a snack will be provided.

Reinforce
The teachers reinforce topics that have been taught for reach grade-level. The goal is to ensure students have mastered key skills and concepts.
Reteach
As the teachers work with students, gaps in skills and concepts will emerge. Teachers will reteach these concepts to students to ensure students will be successful with current and future topics.
Extend
Due to the small group size, teachers can be very responsive. If students have solid background knowledge in current skills and concepts, the teachers can challenge students with new concepts and skills.
